Join us for our second ever Festival Gala Concert! This year, star countertenor Iestyn Davies performs a beautiful song-cycle by Finzi in a special bespoke arrangement made especially for LCMF. Giants of English music Elgar, Walton and Bliss are combined with French flavours to create the perfect programme fora summer’s evening. This concert has two intervals during which refreshments will be served. Picnics are also welcomed!

The headline of this concert is the supremely beautiful 6th movement of Arcadiana - “O Albion” - A love-letter to the English countryside. It is paired with Britten’s rarely heard 2 pieces for piano violin and viola and Fischer’s brilliant arrangement of Beethoven’s pastoral Symphony. Outstanding home-made cakes and local coffee are on offer.

Iestyn Davies makes a return to perform Dowland as an apéritif to the most delicious closure for the 2025 Festival: Frank Bridge’s beautiful Sextet for strings.
